NWA-M-1
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-1 looking north at recovering upland vegetation. Grasses and live oak (Quercus virginiana). East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-1 looking east at cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), and mown grasses. US 41 in background.
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-1 looking west at oak (Quercus sp.), cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), Laurel oak (Quercus laurifolia) with lantana (Lantana camara), dogfennel (Eupatorium capillifolium), and various grasses. South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-1 looking south at saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia) and passionflower (Passiflora incarnata). Not affected by burn.
NWA-M-2
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-2 looking north at cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), Laurel oak (Quercus laurifolia),beggarticks (Bidens alba), and saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia). Not affected by prescribed burn. East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-2 looking east at live oak (Quercus virginiana), saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia), young cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), and other established species.
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-2 looking west at saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia) and cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto). Not affected by prescribed burn. South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-2 looking south at saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia) and cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto). Not affected by prescribed burn.
NWA-M-3
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-3 looking north at dense saw palmetto (Serenoa repens),cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto) and saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia). East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-3 looking east at saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), live oak (Quercus virginiana) cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), and saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia).
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-3 looking west at dense saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), and bushy bluestem (Andropogon glomeratus). South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-3 looking south at saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), and live oak (Quercus virginiana).
NWA-M-4
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-4 looking north at cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), sand cordgrass (Spartina bakeri), and saltgrass (Distichlis spicata) on the north shore of NW A wetland restoration area. East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-4 looking east at remains of mangroves along with established freshwater wetland species within this wetland restoration area. Note duckweed (Lemna minor) and pennywort (Hydrocotyle umbellata).
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-4 looking west at low water of NWA wetland restoration area. Sand cordgrass (Spartina bakeri) dominates the banks with some and saltgrass (Distichlis spicata) and spikerush (Eleocharis sp.). South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-4 looking south at the remnants of mangroves within this freshwater wetland restoration area. Note the installed bulrush (Scirpus validus) flourishing.
NWA-M-5
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-5 looking north NWA restored wetalnd at cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto) stand and remnant mangroves. East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-5 looking east at northern wetland restoration area. Live oak (Quercus virginiana) and cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto) hammock on wetland fring. US 41 in background .
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-5 looking west at northern NWA restored wetlands Sand cordgrass (Spartina bakeri) and saltgrass (Distichlis spicata) florish and expand with lowered waterlevels. South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-5 looking south at standing water of wetland restoration area and cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto).
NWA-M-6
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-6 looking north at mown recruited grass species, installed wetland herbaceous species, and installed oaks in an area formerly overgrown by grapevine (Vitis sp.). East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-6 looking east at mown recruited grasses and other groundcover species in an area formerly overgrown by grapevine (Vitis sp.). US 41 in background.
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-6 looking west at a live oak (Quercus virginiana) hammock, and saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), not affected by prescribed burn. Mown herbaceous species established in an area formerly overgrown by grapevine (Vitis sp.). South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-6 looking south at cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), oak (Quercus sp.), and various mown groundcover species in an area formerly dominated by grapevine (Vitis sp.). Not affected by prescribed burn.
NWA-M-7
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-7 looking north in the ditch with banks dominated by live oak (Quercus virginiana) and saw palmetto (Serenoa repens). East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-7 looking east toward saw palmetto (Seronoa repens), cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto), and live oak (Quercus virginiana).
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-7 looking west at cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto) and swag fern (Blechnum serrulatum) . South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-7 looking south along the ditch covered by duckweed (Lemna minor), with banks dominated by cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto) and live oak (Quercus virginiana).
NWA-M-8
North - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-8 looking north from spoil mound. Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), saltbush (Baccharis halimifolia) and sand corgrass (Spartina bakeri) in foreground. Note roseate spoonbills. East - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-8 looking east from spoil mound. Water spangles (Azolla filiculoides), and marsh pennywort (Hydrocotyle umbellata) at water's edge.
 
West - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-8 looking west from spoil mound within wetland restoration area at duckweed (Lemna minor), water spangles (Azolla filiculoides), and marsh pennywort (Hydrocotyle umbellata) . Spikerush (Elecocharis sp.) establishing in exposed areas. South - 4/14/2010: Monitoring Station NWA - M-8 looking south from spoil mound within this wetland restoration area. Note sand cordgrass (Spartina bakeri) on the wetland edge, and the establiment of the alligatorweed (Alternanthera philoxeroides).
