Approximately 26.46 acres of Brazilian Pepper were eradicated on this parcel between 11/15/04 and 12/15/04 to compensate for loss of competitive balance between mangroves and exotics as a result of mangroves that were damaged during the Hurricane Frances process water event in September 2004. This activity was conducted as initial (emergency) restoration at a time when the Brazilian Pepper seeds were dropping. The methods used included Valpar application, mechanical cutting and physical removal. This is not listed as a NEB project in DO 242
